University Town Center in Hyattsville, Maryland, is a 56-acre mixed-use town center consisting of residential, retail, and office space. Plans include a new, vibrant town center featuring wide pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, sites for outdoor cafes, student housing, restaurants, retail shops, outdoor art displays, a children's museum, and a large plaza with gardens, seating areas, and fountains. UTC is across the street from the Prince George's Plaza Metro station and adjacent to churches, a synagogue, a library, public schools, and the The Mall at Prince Georges. There are six Universities within five miles of UTC (University of Maryland College Park, UMUC, Catholic University, Trinity College, Galluadet, and Howard University) along with easy access to George Washington University, American University and Georgetown University.
The Towers at UTC
The Towers at UTC is an upscale, 910-bed student housing building that opened in August 2006. It features two, three, and four bedroom suites with kitchens and private bathrooms. Units are fully furnished including a washer/dryer in each apartment. The building's amenities include game rooms, an exercise facility, computer rooms, tanning booths, Wi-Fi access in common rooms, and convenient shuttle bus service.
One Independence Plaza
One Independence Plaza contains 112 condominiums ranging from 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom plus den and two bedrooms. Royale 14
Consolidated Theaters is building a 14-screen, stadium seating movie ' theater at the center of UTC, just opposite Independence Plaza. Opening ' Summer 2007.

The 56,000 square foot grocery store will showcase Safeway's newest "Lifestyle Safeway" concept with many specialty and convenience features including new decor with wood flooring, Starbucks, pharmacy, Suntrust Bank, and Bergman's Dry Cleaners. Opening 2008.

Office Buildings
University Town Center has over 1.2 million square feet of office space. Metro 1 was built in 1963 and renovated in 1996. Metro 2 and Metro 3 were built in 1968 and renovated in 1996. Metro 4 was built in 2002, and Metro 5 opened in 2008.
Hyattsville Library
The Hyattsville branch of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System is adjacent to University Town Center. It features full reference services, business and financial information resources, and the Maryland Room Special Collection.
Prince George's Plaza Metro Station
Across the street from University Town Center, the Prince George's Plaza Metro Station opened in 1993. In addition to bus service, it provides subway service on the Green Line. By Metrorail, Prince George's Plaza is 19 minutes to Gallery Place/Chinatown, 22 minutes to L'Enfant Plaza, 27 minutes to Union Station, 31 minutes to the Smithsonian station (National Mall), and 37 minutes to the new baseball stadium at Navy Yard.
Mall at Prince Georges
The Mall at Prince Georges is an indoor shopping mall anchored by Macy's, JCPenney, and Target. Other major retailers include Bally Total Fitness, Marshalls, Office Depot, Old Navy, Ross Dress For Less, Olive Garden, and Outback Steakhouse.
